On March 11, 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global pandemic as a result of the rapid spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the disease Covid-19. The fact that this is a novel coronavirus accounts for it’s virulence within a world with no acquired resistance.
The virus has spread swiftly through an unprepared world leaving healthcare systems overwhelmed. New information emerges every day yet there is a great deal still unknown. Healthcare workers are faced with unprecedented challenges in managing clients with COVID-19 while still protecting themselves and their clients from this highly infectious virus.
Due to the pandemic, all clinical work has been halted to ensure the safety of volunteers. In the meantime, this page will provide links to the most current information available for communities as well as healthcare providers regarding COVID-19. Resources will be updated daily as new information becomes available. You will also find practice guidelines that address the management of maternal care and reproductive health in the context of this ongoing pandemic.
Stay home. Stay healthy. Remember you are not alone - we are all in this together.
